“Distraction has become an alternative to contemplation.”
We often would rather fill all the moments of our day with distraction of media, sport, action, entertainments than spend even an hour thinking and feeling about our own lives. I have suffered from this too. I want to find a way back to using my senses first, before I go for the distraction. I want the ration a minimum of 80/20: 80% using my own senses / 20% distractions and entertainments. But first we have to rememer how to use our senses.
